Well , we are 2 weeks into the world cup ....
England is offically out ...
They lost to the almighty germans .
4 - 1 .
Let me break down the game in my point of view ,

Germany's lastest sensations , Mesut Ozil and Thomas Muller .
Words to describe him ?
Extremely talented .
Agree ? You should , i mean did you saw the way he played against England ?
Most of their counter attacking is started by him and Thomas Muller
Honestly , they make England look like some confused school kid trying out Algebra .
But england defence is quite leaky , i mean John Terry and Co panic everytime the germans attack .
Hopefully he don't do that for Chelsea next season or we will be screwed .
A match this big is bound to have some talking point and yes , it live up to it promises .
The referee rules Lampard's shot to have not cross the line .
If u saw the replay , it did , and by at least a yard .
This affected England's play . No , not affected . It CRUSHED their play .
The England's players look dejected after that decision and never really regain their footing in the match .
Instead , the Germans took full advantage and punished them by some typical German / Chelsea style . Yes , Counter attack .
Fair play to Germany . Come on ! Win Argentina and I will comfirm purchase your jersey .
I'm Sorry England . I feel your pain . Better luck next time .

Super Weird World Cup & Stupid Managers

We are one week into the FIFA World Cup , Ladies and Gentleman .
But hey !
You must agree with me on this , this addition is one of the weirdest World Cup ever !
If you don't agree , a stamp must have blocked your eyes or something .

Why is it weird ?
Well ...
Football powerhouse such as Spain , Brazil , England and France failed to impress !
Spain exactly lost their opening match to the Swiss .
Brazil narrowly overcome North Korea.
England drew on both their opening and second match .
France drew on their opening match and lost to Mexico in their second .
Come on , ARE YOU KIDDING ME !

I intended to buy France no.10 Karim Benzema Jersey before the competition , but thank god i didn't save enough to buy .

In Spain case , they have one of the most formidable team in the competition !
Look at their players ,
Xavi and Iniesta ( The pass masters of modern football )
David Villa and Fernando Torres ( The most clinical strikers of modern football )
Sergio Ramos and Gerrard Pique ( Together , they are a defensive wall , yes , WALL ! )
Come on , which other team can boast they put Cesc Farbregas on the bench ?
But i predict they will bounce back , I still tip them to win .

In Brazil case , why the heck did their coach , Dunga , not call up Ronaldinho and Alexandre Pato ?! That is crazy talk !
Sure , Ronaldinho didn't perform to his peak for the past 2 seasons but he has shown glimpses of it this season ! Come on Dunga , this guy is still making defenders piss on their pants when he attacks .
If Kaka still under perform , surely Dunga will regret not bringing Ronaldinho to South Africa .
And Dunga thinks that Pato is unfit ? Well , if I were in Dunga's Shoes , Pato would at least be on my bench .
And Brazil no longer have SAMBA , why ?
Well they have two defensive midfielders .... Dammit , Dunga !

In England case , all I heard from newspaper weeks before is how Rooney and Co will take the world cup by storm . Well , it hasn't happend yet , has it ? Come on england , this is your golden gerneration !
Come on Lampard , put on your passing boots !
Come on Rooney , put on your scoring boots !
Come on Terry , make strikers fear your cruching tackles again !
And for Robert Green sake , please don't ever put your gloves again for england after that howler !
I want England to win as it would be a fairy tale ending for Lampard and Gerrard's twilight international journey.

For France case , where do i begin ?
Apparently , rumours suggested that France Coach , Raymond Domenech , picks his team through their star sign . wow , really ? Not by their form ?
Nicolas Anelka apparently walks during the matches .
Raymond Domenech believes Frank Ribery is the next Zidane and so he plays in the centre midfield instead of his favourite left wing . Wow , really ? You Convert a winger to a centre playmaker ? DUDE , HE IS WORLD CLASS ON THE LEFT !
Raymond Domenech refuses to call up Philpe Mexes and forced Eric Abidal to play center back . Wow really ?! Another Convertion ?
Raymond Domenech refuses to call up Karim Benzema and ask Theirry Henry to sit on the bench . Wow really ? No wonder there is no goals scored !
And where is Ben Afra and Samir Nasir ? WHAT ARE YOU DOING , DOMENECH !?
Really ...
No wonder France are staring early exit right in the face .

Wow , i had an amazing day today !
But at first , my afternoon was rather sucky i guess ?
First : Only got a lowly B for Effective Com ( partly due to the long speech )
Second : Some people in class are just annoying ? ( Seriously whatever man , who cares )
But ...
Evening was totally off the hook !
Yin and i watch shrek 4 at AMK Hub , ate pizza and we gave swing a miss as it was too late and we were lazy ....
but i really enjoyed her accompany !
She was all funny and treating me like a boyfriendny , not weird at all !
Hope you do that all the time in future , it would be so cool .

Things are finally looking up for me these days ...
Why ?
Hmmm ....
I caught up with Mircoeconomics and Statistics and gave them a RKO .
I didn't RKO Principles of Management but I'm getting there i guess ?
So now left the internet subject , but hey ! I tried my best to study for that as well .
Even my love life is picking up ...
I think i will give her another chance ? The LAST ONE i guess ?

A " Costly " World Cup

$70.62 ...
Sound familiar ? If you are a football fan like me , that amount would ring a bell in your head .
Why ?
If you want to catch all 64 live matches of the world cup in South Africa in June , be ready to fork out $70.62 .
Yes , we football fans in singapore rejoice when we heard that Singapore had finally secured the rights to broadcast the biggest event in world football after months of fruitless negotiation with FIFA . However it seems our happiness was short lived , wasn't it ?
Compared to the prices we had to pay 4 years ago , which was $10.50 for early birds , the figures now had increase by 7 times ! That is way too expensive , isn't it ?

Reading the newspaper in the morning , it seems that many coffee shop owners agree with me . It was reported that they to pay $2,888 for the 1st TV set in their coffee shop and $1888 for each subsequent sets . Misery ? Not yet , they have to $4,888 for TVs with larger screens ( 50 inches and above ) !

Not all coffee shop will be airing the World Cup without a doubt . Some refuses to be held hostage over the outrageous prices .
" I'm seriously considering boycotting this . I will discuss with other coffee shop owners to see what they intend to do , " said Madam Yeo
Why the huge increase you might ask ? Well , Singtel and Starhub reportedly splashed out a cool $21 million to secure the rights , a far cry from the amount of $12 million paid by Starhub for the 2006 World Cup . Thus , the huge inflation of the prices now .
Aware that they are penalised by FIFA , some fans labelled FIFA as a ' greedy ' organization for asking so much more than the last world cup .

In my point of view , i had to agree with them that the prices are ridiculous . Why ? With most matches kicking off past midnight , many fans will find it impossible to catch all 64 . Therefore it might be throwing money into the bin for many people . Worse thing is , not everyone can keep their eyes open ! It will be true in my case as I cultivated a early sleeping habbit and i usually close my eyes if the matches are boring . And since coffee shops paid a fortune to showcase the match , surely prices of food will increase . Can you imagine $2 for a cup of coffee ?

What really caught my attention of this news was that being a football - crazed fan , this news really affected me . I have to fork out so $70.20 to watch the world cup and trust me , that is more than my weekly allowance . Right now , I'm torn in between boycotting or paying a ' ransome ' . I mean imagine my shocked when on the way being driven to school , my mum asked me to cough up $70.20 . I openly refused and there may not have a shout of " GOAALLL " in the Tay's household in June .

My question for the writer of the newspaper will be : " What are the coffee shop owners going to do ? " Surely , their rice bowl will be threaten by this . Are they going to raise prices of food in order to make a profit ? I hope they don't , i don't want a $6 mince meat noodle .

If I'm in control of this , I will still maintain the prices of $70.20 . Many people would not like it , but i bid 21 stinking Million dollars for the broadcast rights ! Come on , have a heart , cut me some slack . I'm clearly taking a big risk as i wounldn't know if i could break even with the amount invested and the amount earned . Dont blame the telcos my friends , blame FIFA .
